A Few Simple Ground Rules From Now On:

1. Remember the words of Jesus, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." Acts 20:35. Our gift exchange is more about giving than it is getting.
2. Focus on the person, not just gift buying or spending the "right" amount. Commit to pray for the person, whose name you drew, during the year. Try to find out something about the person you did not know before.
3. It must be something you are committed to doing. If you or a family member is not going to fully participate then do not put that name in the drawing.
4. Who may participate in the family gift exchange? Anyone who is part of the family by birth, marriage, or adoption. "Future" or "potential" spouses will be included when they make that bold step of officially joining the family. Warning! Prayer and counseling is strongly encouraged before making this decision!
5. The gift amount limit will be $25 per person. It may be used on one gift or several smaller gifts.
6. Each person participation must be willing to give some "gift hints" to the one who has drawn their name. If gifts must be shipped then please send them so they get to the person before Christmas.
7. You may choose not to participate in the family gift exchange, but please be warned that the fleas of a thousand camels will infest your armpits.
