Risks Of Dual Key Encryption
Verification
- A key ID is only worth the trust you put in it
- When you encrypt and send a message using a public key how sure you are it is genuine is up to you
Interception
- A privately shared public key is somehow intercepted and a duplicate key pair is created
- Encrypted transmission can be decrypted, read, re-encrypted with the duplicate key and sent on to intended recipient
- If this interception is bi-directional neither party would know the key pairs have been compromised
