GRUB: Overview

Replaces LILO as default RH boot loader in RH7.3
Allows for multi-kernel image boots without rewriting of the MBR
Allows for emergency boot recovery without having to boot off a rescue CD/floppy or rewrite the MBR (usually)
Boot specs and kernel options can be changed on the fly (e.g. append="mem=1024M", etc)
Multiboot standard compliant
